PHP Web Developer
Oyster Creative Ltd is a creative design and marketing company that specialises in helping clients to grow and develop their activities, be they public or private sector. Tracing our roots back to 1982, our Group is one of the Midlands' leading providers of Marketing, Design and Internet services.
We are seeking a PHP developer to produce content managed websites, online apps and other ongoing projects. From proposals through to deployment, you'll be involved in all aspects of a project both front and back end development.
A good problem solver, with an eye for clean, usable, standards-compliant, cross-browser web design. You must be an expert at translating designs into code and have the ability to work to deadlines across concurrent projects.
Essential skills required:
- Expert at turning designs into clean XHTML & CSS suitable for all modern browsers
- Expert in PHP 5, MySQL, relational database design & interaction
- JavaScript, preferably with experience using Jquery and/or Mootools
- Developing for eCommerce, including experience with popular payment gateways
- Experience of Object Orientated programming
- Experience at creating HTML for email newsletter campaigns
Highly Desirable
- Linux server administration
- Knowledge of current SEO practices and techniques
- Experience with Version Control systems
- Experience of developing with MVC Frameworks such as CodeIgniter or Zend
- Mobile Development
- Flash
- Open Source technologies
- Website Metrics
- Desire to learn more and improve current processes.
The successful candidate will be based at our offices in Stone, Staffordshire, and would be required to work 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Thursday 8.45am-5.30pm, Friday 8.45am-4.15pm with one hour for lunch). Salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the individual. We are an equal opportunities employer.
